Abilene is poised to gain another 150 jobs soon. KRBC has learned that ground will be broken soon on a new wind energy-related business in Abilenes five points business park. Tower tech systems has signed a contract with Nordex USA, Inc. to manufacture wind tower sections for installation at sites in Texas. The idea is to streamline the manufacturing process and make the wind turbine parts more easily available for the wind farms being built in the state. The company will initially start with 150 employees but may grow as demand for wind towers grows.
