Local Store Offers Jewelry for a Cause

"We are a non-profit organization here in Abilene, Texas that works with women in eleven different countries. We work with women in the most extreme poverty and try to develop projects that enable them to generate income and provide for their families and their children," Elena Bailey with Eternal Threads said.
Another item you might recognize in the store is the Redthread Bracelets.
"This is an exciting project that two Abilene Christian University girls developed in conjunction with Eternal Threads. They wanted to do something to help because human trafficking is a huge problem in Nepal and it's a very wonderful exciting project. For three dollars you can invest in a girl's life, you can help stop the problem with human trafficking. We have two boarder units and a safe house where the girls can go for counseling. They can go to live as long as they need to," explains Elena.
Eternal Threads is asking for volunteers to help with their cause. They only have four employees and count volunteers for the rest. "I believe in the power of love and the human impulse to help one another," Elena added.
