With talk about cuts needing to be made, some are concerned about where politicians will make cuts.
Social security is a category they are hoping it won't be.
75-year old, Lola Davis says, "Let's put it like this, if it's gone, we're going to have a hard time."
Davis depends on social security and says she already has a hard enough time paying for her necessities,"Electricity, water, and gas."
These are just a few things that she can pay for with the assistance of social security, but she could not imagine making ends meet without it.
"I'm on Social Security and I know that if I didn't have Social Security, I wouldn't have nothing," says Davis.
Some, however, feel that there is nothing to be concerned about when it comes to cuts being made.
Margaret Vaughn says, "A younger generation these days, I think will have something in place. It may not be exactly what I'm getting at this time."
Davis disagrees, and is worried about future generations when comparing how much one of her sons is investing in Social Security to her late husband.
"He's putting in five times more than what my husband did. Can you imagine? I mean that's not fair to them," explained Davis.
Davis says that she thinks the money her sons are investing in retirement now, they'll never get to see.
"He said mom, I'm going to have to retire in my nineties," said Davis.
To that, all she could do was laugh.
She said she told her son, "You'll never live to be in your nineties darling."
