Updated: October 31, 2008
The City of Abilene will begin studying traffic conditions next week at the following six intersections, to determine whether red light cameras or other safety measures are necessary.
The study will test for visibility of the signals, pavement conditions, lane markings, crosswalk markings, signal timing, red light running violation rates, and enforcement and operational issues.
The study was requested by the Red Light Camera Citizens Advisory Committee. Results are expected early next year.
