The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting signifying a major accomplishment by a government and its management.
The City of Abilene has received this award for 13 consecutive years.
"We are honored to be recognized in this way," said Mindy Patterson, Director of Finance. "Earning an award like the Certificate of Achievement encourages us to continue striving for excellence while working to fulfill our mission."
The Certificate of Excellence is awarded by a panel of impartial judges to governments that meet high standards while demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial goals.
