Breckenridge Woman Celebrates 100th Birthday

By: Breckenridge American
Updated: November 5, 2011
Ruth Jackson, a resident of Cedar Crest Care Center, will celebrate her 101st birthday Wednesday, Nov. 9.

She will be joined by her son and daughter-inlaw of Breckenridge, Dale and Freddie Taylor, her granddaughter and husband, Michele and Bryan Woodward, and her greatgrandchildren, Landry and Jackson Woodward, along with a host of friends and extended family.

Mrs. Jackson and her son and daughter-in-law recently moved to the Breckenridge community to be closer to the Woodward family.

She is active in the center activities and enjoys playing Skip Bo with her 98-year-old friend from down the hall.

Mrs. Jackson's father, Freedom Alexander Rogers, was a Texas Legislator in the House of Representatives in the early 1930s, in Austin. She traveled with him during election time to help hand out information.
