By: Gina Benitez
Updated: November 11, 2011
This year's Salvation Army Tree that was looking for more families got its wish.

However, the numbers were not as high as the organization was hoping for.

The deadline to register was November 4 and while they increased their numbers, they weren't has high as recent years.

The nonprofit collects names of families in need, and others willing to donate can "adopt" a family of their choosing.

Adoptions are available now through the end of the holiday season.
