A group of Texas schools are suing the state for funding cuts believed to be unconstitutional.
At last night's meeting, AISD Superintendent, Heath Burns said, "Board members have shared with me that it's time for our school district and our school board and our community to stand up and make a bold statement about supporting our teachers and about supporting our students."
AISD will join the lawsuit under Thompson & Horton Coalition.
To join the lawsuit it will cost the district anywhere between $20,000 and $22,000.
Burns also announced last night that AISD will not have to pay anything.
A gracious donor who wishes to remain anonymous offered to pay the fee so no tax payer dollars will be used.
