APD: Man Arrested After Stuffing Pants in Store

Yesterday at 4:05 p.m. Officer Martin Walker was dispatched to a theft of a vehicle in progress in the 700 block of East Highway 80. The caller said that a man was trying to steal a car and had walked away. This male suspect was located a short distance away. When he was contacted he gave a false name. This male suspect was placed under arrest for fail to identify.

At 5:05 p.m. Officer Darren Ruiz was dispatched to a south side business in reference to a theft. Store security observed a male suspect stuff items into his pants and jacket and then leave the store without paying for the items. This male suspect was arrested and charged with organized retail theft. The value of the items taken was $620.00.
