An Abilene woman is still shaken up after she says she was robbed in her own home.

Now she says she can't let her guard down till the robber is behind bars.

Mrs. Gibbs' hands still shake when she talks about what happened to her last Friday.

"I was watching my husband go down 11th," Gibbs says.

Her husband had just left the house and she was watching his car drive down the street when a man came to her house and started to open the door.

"Oh my God, my husband is going down the road and he does not know this man is trying to get into my house," Gibbs recalls. "You know, he can't see this."

She did all she could to keep him out, but he was just too strong. Once the man was inside she begged him not to hurt her.

"It's a violation to a female going through something like this," Gibbs says.

But the pleading did not work. The man punched her in the face and took medication and money from the house.

Mrs. Gibbs says she will not forget what he looks like.

"He was sweating profusely and he has a red and white cutoff sweatshirt with pockets in the front, and in the left side pocket I saw the butt of a gun," Gibbs says. "He did not have to hurt me because I told him I had some money; just not to hurt me."

The victim says the robbery took place at about 3:30 in the afternoon.

She describes the man as being in his 50s with grey and black hair pulled back in a pony tail. Mrs. Gibbs says he drove away in a car that sounded like ti had no muffler, but she did not see it.

If you have any information regarding this crime, call Crime Stoppers at 325-676-TIPS.
