Inmate Crews Back to Work After Escape-Induced Suspension

By: Victor Sotelo
Updated: January 25, 2012
Taylor County Inmate work crews are back out doing work.

The Sheriff's Department suspended the crews after an inmate escaped from a work crew vehicle just as it was re-entering the gate at the jail.

Authorities captured 22-year-old Dennis James Ingle just a short while after he jumped off the back of a bus on Dec. 5.

Each crew is now accompanied by two officers instead of just one, as was the previous practice.
