APD: Man Piles on Charges After Giving False Name

Last night at 7:50 Officer Roger Romero was dispatched to a wanted person call in the 400 block of Penrose. Officer Romero contacted a male subject who gave a false name. Officer Romero discovered his real name and placed him under arrest for the arrest warrant which was for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. In the search incident to arrest Officer Romero found drug paraphernalia on his person. This male subject was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to identify.

At 10:10 p.m. Officer Josh Ward stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of North Mockingbird for a traffic offense. The male driver appeared intoxicated and failed the standardized field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest and provided a breath specimen. The results were 0.173 and 0.170. The legal limit is 0.08. This male driver was charged with DWI with previous conviction.

And finally at 1:00 a.m. Officer Joe Plato was dispatched to a check welfare call where a male driver was slumped over a steering wheel in the 3700 block of Dub Wright. The vehicle was running and the car was in gear. Officer Plato contacted the driver and he appeared intoxicated. He failed the standardized field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI. He refused to provide a breath sample.
