Merkel's Harris Commits To Cisco College

By: David Robinett
Updated: January 30, 2012
Former Merkel running back Frankie Harris is committed to play football for Cisco College.

Harris has several 4-year schools interested in him, but he is staying closer to home to play for the Wranglers.

Harris led the Badgers in rushing in 2011 with 1,568 yards and 23 touchdowns. He averaged over 9 yards every time he carried the ball.

Harris' career at Merkel included 5,480 yards and 66 touchdowns. Harris helped lead the Badgers to the playoffs 3 straight seasons with a district championship in 2010 and 2011.

Cisco head coach Scott Taylor says he wants Harris for his run-oriented offense.

National signing day is February 1st.
