By: Officer George Spindler, APD
Updated: February 1, 2012
At 9:20 last night, Officer Chris Volirakis was dispatched to a disturbance in the 1300 block of Victoria Street. A male suspect was contacted and was holding a shovel. Officer Volirakis was able to remove the shovel from the male, but the male then began to yell and scream profanities. When Officer Volirakis went to arrest the male for disorderly conduct, the male suspect refused to obey the officer's commands. The male suspect then resisted Officer Volirakis' attempt to arrest him. The male was eventually arrested for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

At 9:50 last night, Sergeant Jason Haak contacted a female motorist for a traffic violation in the 2000 block of North First Street. The female was found to have an active local warrant. During the contact, Sgt. Haak observed that the female appeared intoxicated. The female subject failed the standardized field sobriety test administered by Officer Chad Allen. The female was arrested for the local warrant and for driving while intoxicated.

At 11:12 p.m., Officer Anthony Joeris contacted a male suspect in the 2900 block of South First Street. The suspect had been recently warned of criminal trespass from the location at the request of business owners. The suspect was arrested for criminal trespass.
