4:20 Update:
American Eagle has issued the following statement regarding proposed job cuts to be made by American Airlines:

Eagle did not announce restructuring plans or targets today - because Eagle's plan is dependent upon changes and decisions American has not yet made. Eagle will not begin that process - the 1113 process - for a few weeks. Information on employee changes will be provided at that time.

Original Story:
According to NBC 5 in the Metroplex, American Airlines is preparing to announce that they may cut 10,000-15,000 jobs across the company.

NBC 5 reports an estimated 1,000 of those jobs will likely be cut at their maintenance base located in Fort Worth's Alliance Airport.

The total number of jobs cut may change since after they present the plan they will negotiate with unions, according to the report.

The announcement is expected to be made at a meeting this morning.

There is currently no word on what effect these cuts could have on the Big Country.
