"It's never fun to get broken into, because you lose that sense of trust," said McMurry student Katie Couzzourt.
Over the weekend, four vehicles on McMurry's University's campus were targeted by car burglars.
"A student called and said his car had been broken into. I got over there and by the time I got over to it, we noticed another car that had been broken into," said Mark Odom, with McMurry Security.
Three of the vehicles had their windows busted out. One was left unlocked. The burglars made off with several stereo system and GPS's.
"Seeing us around, folks hopefully aren't going to do this kind of thing," Odom said.
Odom says it can be difficult to patrol a college campus. In addition to having students of all different ages and backgrounds, they constantly have people that aren't students walking through campus because of their location.
"We have a fifth grade student, to retired people who come back to take classes, thing like that. So yeah, it's very hard know who belongs and who doesn't," Odom said.
Students say while the break-ins do create some concern, they still feel safe when they are on campus.
"It is alarming, because it is such a small campus and it is such a small community," said McMurry student Sam Peyton.
"I mean, this would be considered major for our school. Go to a bigger school and this is not major," Couzzourt said.
