Tye volunteer firefighter Jeremy Linn and his family lost everything in the fire.
"The kids' stuff is melted, toys are gone. They just had Christmas," said Jeremy's wife, Billie Linn.
The Linns spent Monday picking up the pieces of their fire-ravaged home.
"It just got out of control and we had to get out," Jeremy Linn said.
Jeremy was able to wake up his family and get everyone out safely. The Abilene Fire Department got on scene to find the family standing in the front yard.
"If he had not have woken up, we would have all been dead," Billie said.
Investigators said the fire started in the living room. The flames claimed one of the family's dogs and two hamsters. Now the Linns are faced with the reality of rebuilding their home and their lives.
"We need clothes for the kids and building supplies. I don't see how we can fix it. I don't know what we're going to do," Billie said.
Donations for the Linns are being accepted at Tye City Hall or can be mailed to P.O Box 369, Tye, Texas 79563. The family has asked for the following:
Erica - Gym clothes, jacket, panties (size 8), jeans (women's size 14), grey shirt (XL), knee shorts (L), shoes (10), shirt/socks (XL)
