Updated: February 7, 2012
The nationally recognized Abilene High and Cooper High School fiddle group 'Revolution' is proud to announce their acceptance into the Eclectic Strings Festival being held at the American String Teachers Association National Conference in Atlanta, GA March 22-24, 2012.

Revolution, directed by Darcy Radcliffe and David Keown, is a troupe of 18 violinists, one cellist, a bass player, and a drummer between the ages of 14-18. Their performances highlight the talent and musicianship of the finest string players from the Abilene High and Cooper High School Orchestra programs. Through a live video performance submitted to ASTA, Revolution won a position to compete in this national competition.

The goal of the Eclectic Strings Festival is to provide both young musicians and teachers an authentic learning and performing experience in a variety of musical genres. Participants will be instructed by nationally-recognized performers and clinicians in a workshop setting, and perform with these guest artists as part of the National American String TeachersAssociation Conference.

The Eclectic Strings Festival will serve as an example of students and teachers working together toward excellence in music performance and instruction, and will provide inspiration for an eclectic musical future nationwide.

Revolution will be giving a preview performance for the public, entitled "Join the Revolution," February 24, at 7:00p.m. at the Abilene Women's Club located at 3425 South 14th, Abilene, Texas. Tickets are $25 and will be available at the main offices of Abilene High School and Cooper High School. Please contact Darcy Radcliffe at 691-1000 x 2284, or David Keown at 691-1000 x 8186, for more information.
