Updated: February 8, 2012
At 3:28 yesterday afternoon, Officer Martin Walker was dispatched to a theft call at a north side business in the 1600 block of Highway 351. A male suspect had been contacted by store loss prevention after shoplifting an electronic item, later determined to be valued at approximately $289.00 dollars. The suspect made no attempt to pay for the item as he walked through a closed checkout lane and then left the store. The suspect was arrested for theft.

At 4:36 yesterday afternoon, Officer Robert Brannon was dispatched to a south side residence in the 2500 block of Nonesuch Road. The victim had called and reported that her residence had been burglarized while she was out of town and that several household items and electronics had been stolen. This investigation continues.

At 10:22 last night, Officer Andrew Valdez contacted a motorist for illegal parking in the 400 block of Peach Street. After contacting the male suspect, he determined the suspect had an outstanding warrant for driving while license invalid. He arrested the man for the warrant, searched him, and discovered the man in possession of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Other drug paraphernalia items were also located. The suspect was arrested for his warrant and for delivery of a controlled substance.
