Updated: February 9, 2012
The city council this morning approved a request to close a street for several months in south Abilene.

Ross Street from South 16th to Hunt Street will be closed until at least October to allow crews to finish the renovations to the McMurry stadium.

The renovations are going to expand seating in the stadium.

Traffic on Ross is being diverted onto side streets until the road can be opened again.
