Man Arrested After Stumbling Down Willis

At 3:44 p.m. yesterday, Officer Kevin Ohnheiser was dispatched to a shoplifter call in the 1600 block of Highway 351. Two suspects, one male and the other female, were observed by loss prevention concealing merchandise and then leaving the store without paying for it. Approximately $71.00 in merchandise was recovered. The male suspect pulled out a baggie of marijuana while he was detained. The female suspect was arrested on an enhanced charge of felony theft due to previous theft convictions. The male suspect was arrested for theft and possession of marijuana.

At 9:27 p.m. yesterday, Officer Joe Plato responded to a reckless driver call in the 4600 block of North First Street. The suspect vehicle was located and Officer Plato contacted a male suspect in the 700 block of South Pioneer Drive. Officer Plato observed that the driver appeared intoxicated and conducted a standard field sobriety test. The suspect failed the test and was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated. The suspect had two prior driving while intoxicated convictions.

At 12:01 this morning, Officer Mark Thomas contacted a male suspect that was walking in the 700 block of Willis Street because the man was stumbling as he walked. Officer Thomas determined that the man was intoxicated and arrested the man for public intoxication. During a search of the suspect, a baggie containing marijuana was found. The man was also charged with possession of marijuana.
