Dublin Bottling Works No Longer Bottling Big Red

Just a little more than a month after the demise of Dublin Dr Pepper, Dublin Bottling Works has been ordered to stop producing Big Red.
"That's all we had to be proud of. Other towns have other things," said Miles Gilman, who owns Granny Clark's Diner in Dublin.
Gilman found out at the end of last week that once his supply sold out, he wouldn't be getting in any more Big Red from Dublin Bottling Works.
"This is it. This is my last box. If anybody wants it, they'd better come in the next couple days," he said.
Dublin Bottling Works stopped bottling Dr Pepper last month after a trademark dispute with Dallas-based Dr Pepper Snapple Group. It appears to be a similar story now. Officials with Big Red in Austin said Dublin Bottling Works never had the rights to sell Big Red in the DFW area, which is Dr Pepper Snapple's territory.
"They continue to take things away from us," said Lisa Leatherwood, who lives in Dublin.
Now the small plant will be forced to overcome yet another huge obstacle, the second in less than two months.
"It's gone. So it's really devastating for the town," Gilman said.
