Still grieving from the loss of her 3rd child, Rafaela suffered from an auto-immune response and pneumonia, that landed her in intensive care at Abilene Regional Medical Center.
Her family watched anxiously, as doctors told her father-in-law to "prepare for the worst." But instead of succumbing to the doctor's diagnosis, Rafaela's condition took an unexplainable turn toward healing.
It wasn't until after she woke up, that Rafaela's family and friends began to understand just what was happening during those long hours in the hospital waiting room.
After hearing the story for himself, Rafaela's father-in-law decided to turn her amazing journey into a children's book, "I Was Three," told from the point of view of Rafaela's son, Benjamin.
The inspirational story of healing comes to life, as Alex Hayes sits down with the pair to get the full account of what happened inside those hospital walls.
