Fake money is being passed around in Abilene, and some places have been able to catch it before it goes into the register.

On Saturday someone tried to use a fake $100 bill at Books-A-Million.

The McDonalds across the parking lot also caught some counterfeit cash on Saturday, as well as 7-11 on Butternut, Catfish Corner on Treadaway, and Pam's Pets on North First.

Abilene police say they are investigating.
