McMurry Tops HSU In Final Regular Season Match

McMurry, who is leaving the American Southwest Conference after this season to go to Division II, clinched the ASC West title with the win. The War Hawks took control of the match with three wins in doubles, including a tiebreak win at No. 1 doubles.
HSU's Lauren Jay and Morgan Rainer won easily in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, but McMurry swept the final four matches to record the win.
The Cowgirls are now 7-8 on the year and 3-1 in ASC action. HSU hosts Howard Payne on Wednesday at 4 p.m. and can clinch an ASC Tournament berth with a win. McMurry improved to 12-6 on the year and to 6-0 in ASC West action.
