Meek Blood Center Supply Replenished

By: Gina Benitez
Updated: April 20, 2012
The Meek Blood Center's blood supply is now back at acceptable status after being critically low just days ago.

After Sunday's early morning wreck that claimed the lives of two, the center ran low on several blood types, especially O-negative.

However just a few days after putting the word out, the Meek Blood Center received a tremendous outpouring from those willing to help.

"Our response has been fantastic," says donor/recruiter Francis Baker. "We've averaged about 40 people a day coming into our center to donate in response to our plea for people to come in and replenish the blood supply. It has been wonderful."

Some who weren't able to donate this past week can still go to the Rodney Holder event next Thursday.
