The city has applied for millions of dollars of funding through the Texas Water Development Board.
Capital projects to improve or replace water mains, storage tanks, and other related improvements are necessary for the city to maintain a working water system, and they hope this option will help them complete the tasks in the most financially friendly way.
"We've been invited to submit applications for funding and hopefully get some low-interest loans on this, save the city some money on the financing side," says Assistant Director of Water Utilities Wayne Lisenbee.
The item will be on next week's city council agenda.
