Scurry Co. Burn Ban Lifted Until June 5

By: Snyder Daily News
Updated: May 15, 2012
The Scurry County Commissioners Court lifted the burn ban on Tuesday and will revisit the issue at its next meeting.

County Judge Ricky Fritz noted that during a burn ban, his office, the forest service or the governor may lift the ban.

All commissioners said this is the optimum time to lift the ban, with several inches of precipitation over the past week and the need for area ranchers and farmers to burn brush and clear their acreage.

"We will keep cognizant of it, and we will revisit it on June 5," Fritz said.
