Ruff RIders Weekly Update: Looking Ahead To The Playoffs

By: Alyssa Orange
Updated: May 30, 2012
Only five games are left in the regular season for the Ruff Riders. They currently sit in a three way tie with Corpus Christi and Amarillo. With that being said, they know that every game the rest of the season is a must win for them, starting with this upcoming weekend's game against Laredo.

"Right now we need to go out and take it one game at a time. We have a big one this weekend down in Laredo, before our by week, so we have to go get that one. We need to go out and win the games we should and put us in a position at the end of the year where we are in the playoffs and its a matter of what seed we get, not where we are hoping someone beats someone and someone beats someone by so many points in order to get in. So that's what we are looking for. However, Offensively, Byron played great, receivers are performing at the level I expect them to, and offensive line played fantastic. If we just put it all together, than we will be where we want to be." says Head Coach Joe Brannen.

If the Ruff Riders win this weekend, it will put their record back up to .500.  That will help them try and secure that third place finish and a berth in the upcoming playoffs. Their next game is Saturday down in Laredo.
