59 Student-Athletes Selected To ASC All-Academic Honor Roll

RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons placed 59 members on the American Southwest Conference 2011-12 Winter/Spring All-Academic honor roll. The teams were announced by the ASC office on Thursday (May 30) and include the sports of basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, softball and track & field.
 
The 59 members was the second most in the ASC, behind the 79 for Texas Lutheran. Texas-Tyler was third with 49 selections.
 
To be eligible for ASC All-Academic honors, student-athletes must be classified academically as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student during the competition season and have been in attendance and completed at least one academic year (two consecutive semesters) at their institution. They must also have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as certified at the conclusion of the academic semester in which the ASC sport championship is held.
 
Student athletic trainers and student sports information directors were also honored.
 
A total of 603 student-athletes in the conference met the criteria.
