Abilene police arrested 36-year-old Corey Jermaine Garrett Tuesday night just after 11:00 after an officer noticed signs of intoxication during a routine traffic stop on North Seventh Street.
After failing field sobriety tests, Garrett was taken to Taylor County Jail where he provided breath samples which showed his blood-alcohol concentration to be 0.134 and 0.125. The legal limit is 0.08.
The officer's investigation revealed that the children in the car were both under 15 years old.
Garrett was charged with driving while intoxicated with child, which is a felony.
