Snyder Police Find No Evidence of Sexual Assault Intent in Burglary

By: Snyder Daily News
Updated: June 20, 2012
A weekend report of a burglary with intent to commit sexual assault investigation has closed, with no charges filed.

A blotter entry stated that a burglary-in-progress call was logged at 3:19 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of 36th Street. The blotter entry also indicated that there was an intent to commit sexual assault.

Snyder police officers learned during the investigation that a cousin of the homeowner entered the house without permission with two other subjects and threatened the homeowner.

The homeowner was asleep at the time of entry.

"There is nothing to indicate that there was an intent to commit a sexual assault," said Snyder Police Chief Terry Luecke.

Luecke said the homeowners will not press charges and there was no assault in the presumed home invasion.

"There was no assault and the homeowners did not want to pursue charges," he said. "The case is closed."
