Last night at about 10:00, Officer Jim Ward contacted a reckless motorist in the 1100 block of North Mockingbird Lane after observing the driver of the vehicle rapidly back-out into oncoming traffic. Officer Ward contacted the male driver of the vehicle and during his investigation he smelled the odor of alcohol coming from him and noticed he was showing signs of intoxication. The driver was given field sobriety tests which he failed. He was arrested and taken to jail where he provided breath samples. Breath samples taken revealed the driver's BAC to be 0.166 and 0.163. The driver was charged with an enhanced felony charge of driving while intoxicated based on previous driving/boating while intoxicated convictions.
Just after 11:00 last night, Officer Joshua Davis was dispatched to a criminal mischief call in the 1700 block of Briarwood Street. APD Dispatch was notified by a victim that one of his tires on his vehicle was cut. Officer Davis' investigation revealed that a tire valued at approximately $280 was damaged during this incident.
