Senior Spotlight: Clyde Resident Celebrates 102nd Birthday

Shes lived through both world wars- the first steps on the moon, even seen Abilene grow by over 100,000 people, and she couldn't feel better.
"I guess it feels pretty good 'cause I'm still here," said Ruby Johnson.
Even at 102 Johnson still has her sense of humor.
When asked what her favorite thing to do is, she responds, "go to bed I think."
The retired telephone operator even has a street named after her.
Yet her greatest legacy may just be her family.
"She started out with one child and wound up with about thirty all together you know with grand children and great and great great, and great," said her niece Pat Crawford.
Her eyes, smile and each wrinkle serve as signs of a fulfilled life.
"She was a seamstress and worked for the telephone company and then she retired from sears on the switch board," said Crawford.
Her response to the secret behind her long lived youth? "Oh I don't know."
Perhaps her secret lies in her stomach.
"Whatever you put on the table she will eat," said Crawford, "she loves to eat."
No matter how old- there's one thing that's certain- she's still as unpredictable.
"You just never know whats going to come out of her mouth anymore," said Crawford.
