Kids Create Art Based on Dr. Seuss

By: Kristin Anderson
Updated: July 14, 2012
Children were creating works of art inspired by Dr. Suess this afternoon at the National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature. Kids at the Family Fun Day used aluminum and markets to carve decorative projects.

The projects are designed around the different illustrators featured at the center, which also helps with learning outside of art.

"Art is always a good thing for children. It helps them in other areas of their education. You know, it helps them with math and all the other disciplines that you use. Art can enhance that learning," said Patty Rae Wellborn, art instructor.
