Alcohol Sales to Reach Eastland Ballot, Cisco Awaits Verification

By: Nora Hartfeil
Updated: July 19, 2012
Eastland will officially see the alcohol sales initiative on its November ballot, while Cisco is still waiting to find out if all of the petition signatures are verified.

The initiative would legalize the sale of beer and wine in stores and mixed drinks to be served in restaurants.

A representative from the Cisco Chamber of Commerce says the petition signatures have been submitted, and they are currently awaiting confirmation from the voters registration office.

They received over 700 of the required 527 signatures.

The initiative will make its way to the November ballot once the petition has been verified.
