A man is still in the hospital tonight after he was hit and run over by a vehicle several times last Monday. DaShawn McClain is now recovering at a Lubbock hospital. Police say he was dragged along the street after the suspect hit him.

Family members said McCalin was run over four times Monday night. His aunt said McClain was orginally taken to hendrick medical center, but transfered to University Medical Center in Lubbock. Though the hospital would not release any information, family members told us that he is still in critical condition.

His aunt said that McClain was in Abilene visiting his children, and that he did have an encounter with the driver before the car hit him and reversed over him several times. His family said that they were upset to hear that this happened to him.

"He's real sweet. He'll work, and kind. He's my nephew. And we laugh a lot,you know and we watched movies together and stuff. He was trying to get his life together," said Judi Jones, McClain's aunt.

APD has one suspect in custody at the moment. Casey Lee Overby was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a $100,000 bond.
