To enter, Pinterest users must re-pin the prizes to one of their personal boards. From those re-pinned photos, the ACVB will select a random winner for each pin on Sept. 4.
Pinterest acts as a virtual pin board and allows users to organize and share any images they find inspiring online. People develop their own personal boards that can include anything from a desired outfit, appealing home dcor, must-go travel destinations, mouth watering recipes and more. Each image pinned links back to a website online that further explores the image.
"We are very excited to be on the forefront of this social platform with Abilene's own Pinterest contest," Trish Dressen, Communication Director for the ACVB said. "We feel that utilizing this social media platform further engages and excites potential visitors and locals alike, but also provides a way to broaden our audience. We think people will find our prizes and Abilene very, very Pinterest-ing!"
The ACVB has partnered with several area attractions and businesses to make the campaign possible. They plan to continue with a new Pinterest contest quarterly and offer prizes and experiences for Abilene events year round. Follow them at http://pinterest.com/abilenecvb/.
