Traveling Texas Tap Dancer Teaches Kids at Abilene Library

Updated: July 24, 2012
Hundreds of kids were awed by a tap dancing treat at the Abilene Public Library Tuesday morning.

Terrence Taps, as he's called, took over the auditorium at the Main Library downtown.

The tap dancer travels all around Texas showing off his skills and stopped by Abilene to teach kids about the history of tap and the differences in style, all while performing with his fast feet.

"Well if nothing else, that they learn tap dancing is enjoyable and fun and they may want to try it. That's good enough for me." Taps said. "The education aspect is good, but I find they don't learn anything if they don't enjoy the show."

The tap dancing performance was the fourth and last event put on by Young Audiences at the library this summer.
