Yesterday afternoon at about 1:30, Officer Stan Meiser was dispatched to a shoplifting call at a business in the 1600 block of Highway 351. APD Dispatch had been notified by a loss employee that a female shoplifting suspect was in their office after being contacted for leaving their store without paying for merchandise. Officer Jacob Weise was able to contact the subject at the residence after responding officers surrounded it. The male subject was the only subject inside the residence. Officer Weise's investigation revealed that the subject had authorized access to the home, but a record's check revealed the subject had an outstanding municipal warrant. Officers also observed marijuana in plain view within the residence. The male subject was arrested and was found to have drug paraphernalia on his person after a search. The subject was arrested on his warrant and for possession of marijuana. .

Last night at about 7:30, Officer Matthew Allen was dispatched to a theft call at a residence in the 1300 block of Mulberry Street. APD Dispatch had been notified by the victim that three air conditioners (window units) had been taken from the victim's carport sometime during the day. Officer Allen's investigation revealed that the victim had temporarily placed the functioning air conditioners in the carport and that the theft occurred while the victim was at work. A description of possible unknown suspects was obtained from a neighbor. The units stolen were worth approximately $150. This investigation is ongoing.
