Update: Three People, Two Dogs Killed in Brown County Shooting

Three people and two dogs were killed after a deadly shooting at an Early RV Park Sunday afternoon.

According to Brown County authorities, the incident began when the suspect, identified as Charles Ronald Conner, 58, got into an argument with a couple in their 60s who also live at the RV park about the their dogs barking and coming onto his property.

Conner shot the two dogs, then shot the couple, whose names have not been released pending notification of next of kin, authorities said.

Conner then went back to his trailer and when police arrived on scene, he began firing shots at law enforcement officers. Police returned fire and at the same time, a resident also fired at Conner.

Conner was shot and killed by an Early police officer and the resident at the same time, authorities said.

7/29/12 4:30pm Update: KTAB's Victor Sotelo & Nora Hartfeil are on scene at the Peach House RV Park in Early. Brown County authorities have not released victim or suspect information yet, but have confirmed three people are dead. Two bodies were found in one area of the RV park, and the third was discovered in a separate area.

7/29/12 3:30pm Update: Brown County Sheriff's Office confirmed three people are deceased after a shooting at the Peach House RV Park on Hwy 183N.

BCSO Captain Tony Aaron was on scene and stated that all deaths were caused by gunshot wounds; however he would not confirm which of the deceased were possible victims or if the shooter was among the dead.

According to Aaron, the incident was caused over a dispute and that there was a single shooter, who is not at large. Aaron also stated that no law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.

The Texas Rangers are taking the lead in the investigation and will be assisted by the Brown County Sheriff's Office, Brownwood Police, Early Police, Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens, and Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers who were all on scene Sunday afternoon according to Aaron.

Because the investigation is underway, limited information was available. The scene will be processed, witnesses will be interviewed and more information released later this evening according to Aaron.
