2-1-1 Texas is is committed to helping Texas citizens connect with the services they need. Whether by phone or internet, their goal is to provide easy-to-find information from over sixty thousand state and local health and human services programs.

Local 2-1-1 Program Director, Mary Cooksey, says, "The biggest benefit is it's one single number to remember. As life goes on things appear for the very first time and you go I don't know who to call for that and so if you remember 2-1-1, then you have your answer."

"2-1-1 in Texas is a very special number because not only does it connect you with local, regional health and human service programs like we are here in West Central Texas a call for help, where we cover the nineteen counties West Central Texas with resources but it also, you can do option two which takes you to your Texas benefits and option three which takes you to the attorney generals office and option four which is for people who need to register for transportation assistance if they need to get out of their home in case of a hurricane and things of that sort.", explains Cooksey.
