One man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Scurry County Thursday night.

Jimmy Joe Fowler, 49, was driving a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Farm Road 1673 where he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

The vehicle skidded into the north ditch, overturning numerous times.

Fowler was taken to Cogdell Memorial Hospital where Dr. Dale Dunn pronounced him dead at 10:03 Thursday night.

The road was dry and the weather was clear.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in this crash, but it is still under investigation.

Fowler's death will make the second fatal motorcycle accident in Scurry County this week.
