Abilene to Receive Loan for Water System Improvements

Thursday, the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved a loan in the amount of $2,500,000 to the City of Abilene from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system
improvements.

The City of Abilene intends to use the funds to rehabilitate several water mains within the City, and replace the roof of eight ground water storage tanks.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the State Water Plan for the development of the state's water resources.
