Shores of Anson Lake Littered with Dead Fish

By: Katie Thompson
Updated: August 20, 2012
The Texas Parks and Wildlife department is investigating what's behind hundreds of dead fish washing onshore in Anson.

As of Monday morning, the shorelines at North Anson Lake were littered with several different kinds of dead fish.

A similar incident occured at the lake back in May when officials from Inland Fisheries determined golden algae, which is toxic to fish, was present in the lake.

Wildlife officials say this could be related to the golden algae, or low oxygen levels.

Lab samples taken Monday afternoon should be ready by mid-week
