Anson High Gets New Gym Floor Just in Time

Updated: August 21, 2012
When Anson High students and staff head back to school next week, they'll have a completely new gym floor to welcome them.

After a water leak ruined the fairly new gym floor about six weeks ago, crews have been hard at work to replace it.

It took about a month, but the new floor is nearly ready to go with new boards, new stripes and a new tiger painted right where the old one used to be..

"The way I look at it," states Anson ISD Superintendent, Jay Baccus "sometimes probems happen and this turned out that the insurance took care of the costs so it didn't directly cost the district a lot of money, and it just needed to be fixed and now it's fixed, so we're ready to go."

A leak in a water pipe just below the gym is what caused the floor to buckle.

The old floor was just three years old.
