Sweewater Police continue to search for several suspects they believe are involved in a shooting Wed. night.

They received the call at around 9:34 p.m., after several neighbors reported hearing multiple shots fired.

A quiet night in was quickly interrupted for several Sweetwater residents.

"We were inside watching the football game when we heard to gun shots and then," said Melissa Duran.

"We just panicked," said Cynthia Beaza.

Many rushed out after hearing multiple  gunshots right in their own front yard at the apple creek apartments.

"As soon as I heard that I made my kids run to the restroom and he came outside," said Duran.

"By the time I got out here that guy was already lying on the floor," said Duran.

They found, Jesus Delgado who had been shot in the abdomen.

Another victim, Jesse Medina was later found by police at his home with a gunshot wound to the knee.

Both were quickly taken to the hospital.

Sweetwater Police immediately rushed to the scene but where unable to catch any of the suspects who quickly fled away, they blocked off the area to investigate.

"We still don't have a clear picture as to what brought on the event that's currently being investigated by our detectives as well as the texas rangers and some neighboring agencies," said Bryan Frieda, Sweetwater Chief of Police.

Police continue to search for the three male suspects who they believe are from several parts of the Big Country.

They'll continue to investigate before reaching out to the public for any help.

"We do have some conflicting stories on suspects and vehicle information so were wanting to clarify some of that information before we put it  out there," said Frieda.

Officials have since cleared out much of the scene, however, there is still signs of blood on the concrete.

It's right next to a few of the toys where residents had designated as the play area.

"How can anybody just come over here and do that you know with all the kids out here,"said Duran.

This is the first shooting since Frieda became chief of police.

It's also the first for many of the residents who say its something they won't quickly forget.

Police have yet to release the names of those suspects.

Only one of the victims, remains in the hospital- officials do say however, that none of the injuries were life threatening.

They say if need be, they will release more details about the suspects car to reach out to the public for help.
