Updated: September 8, 2012
For the second straight week the Abilene Cooper Cougars defeated a Class 4A power, but this time on the road.

Last week it was a high scoring match-up with W.F. Rider at Shotwell Stadium. This week it meant taking on a highly ranked Cedar Park, but road this time.

It would be Cedar Park that struck first with after a long return on the opening kick-off by Lane Weller. That helped set up a field goal to give the Timberwolves a 3-0 lead.

The Cougars would respond with a touchdown run by Kerry Sims to give Cooper a 7-3 lead.

After another Cedar Park field goal, the Cougars would once again put the ball in the endzone. This time it was a long run by Sims that ended in a touchdown to put the Cougars up 14-6.

Cedar Park would once again answer, but this time with a touchdown and two point conversion. That meant a 14-14 tie going into the intermission.

In the end it was the Cougars that would pull out the victory with a field goal in the second half to win 17-14.
