McMurry Grad Killed in Combat, Remains Returned Home

Family and friends of the American soldier and McMurry graduate who was killed in action overseas gathered at DFW Airport Saturday as a hero's remains were brought home.

U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Jeremie Border died in combat in Afghanistan last Saturday.

Hundreds were at the airport when his remains were returned to North Texas today followed by a motorcade..

The Mesquite High School and McMurry university football standout is called a hero by the people who knew him growing up.

Border was buried during a private ceremony Saturday.

For those who want to pay their respects -- visitation is scheduled is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas.

A funeral service will be held on Monday at the Family Cathedral of Praise in Mesquite at 10 a.m.
