Man uses Recovery over Drug Addiction to Help Others at Dream Center

It's not your average bible study group.
"We just take a different approach to sobriety," Rey Sandoval, director at the Dream Center said.
These men are overcoming addiction. It's a battle Rey is familiar with. And his addiction got worse after going to a traditional 30 day rehab center.
"I left that program after 17 days. And I learned about all the different prescriptions that you can take," he explained. "By the time that the plane touched in Texas, I had all kinds of drugs, pills lined up."
His drug addiction continued to get worse.
"I came out a monster," he said.
Overdosing seven times.
"And I didn't even care if I died, or thought Iwas going to die. I was just lost in my mind," he said.
That's when Rey was introduced to a long-term residential rehab center. Now Rey uses his own recovery to help with his teachings, relating to those working to be drug-free.
"I know what these guys are going through. I know those feelings of being mad or frustrated," Rey said. "All the emotions of feeling like you're on a roller coaster of going up and down, I did that."
